What I Learned From the Singles Ward Kids (cont.)

Last Sunday a boy shared his testimony.  He had been bowling with a group during the week.  On one of his turns, he ended up with every pin knocked down, except for 2;  one on the far east side and the other on the far west of the opening.  No pins in between.  Not a lot of options for success.  He was up a creek.  It didn't look good.  While pondering the dismal situation, he was uplifted to hear a voice from the group,  "Opportunity for greatness!"  The situation took a different spin in that instant.  He could be bummed or he could change his attitude and think about possible creative strategies.  It was still his turn and why give up?

Then he compared this situation with one that Heavenly Father might witness in our lives as we come upon dismal situations where we just want to give up or even choose unwisely.  His is the cheer leading voice that, if we listen and take a deep breath, we'll hear and feel "Opportunity for greatness!"  He is always cheering us on no matter what the trial.  Think of the possibilities!

I like the thought of that.
